Fans have searched for Guardians of the Galaxy‘s biggest Easter egg for years and now it seems that some very clever Marvel fans may have uncovered the truth.
Both Guardians of the Galaxy and its sequel have two particularly major Easter eggs, each of which is there to set up the following film in the near-trilogy. Vol. 2‘s Easter egg still remains a mystery but thanks to a group of Marvel fans, the Easter egg for the first film seems to have been discovered. Prepare yourself for a lot of mental exercises as these Marvel fans break down the insane secret.
Many have theorized what this Easter egg could be and now, thanks to Reddit user ajniggles, who also used evidence from Youtuber MasterTainment as well, it seems the truth has been found. The major evidence for this theory is found in the coordinates listed alongside every location name in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Many thought the coordinates were just useless bits of information but it turns out that they actually secretly reveal the true villain of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Ego ( Kurt Russel). Check out the post below to see the theory so insane that it has to be true.
Of course, knowing Gunn’s knack for throwing so many Easter eggs into these Marvel films, this could be just another Easter egg. That being said, that evidence brought forth in the post above makes it hard to believe that it isn’t the Easter egg. The sequel’s Easter egg is apparently much more difficult to find but now that this one seems to have been uncovered, it could lead the way to find Vol. 2‘s Easter egg that much sooner.
