Chris Pratt Finds New Project After ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ Delay

Chris Pratt Guardians of the Galaxy

Since Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is still in production limbo at the moment, Chris Pratt is using his free time to take on a drastically different character in Taylor Sheridan’s next film.

Guardians of the Galaxy and its sequel have brought some of the most beloved characters to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That’s a major feat considering that prior to the first Guardians of the Galaxy‘s release, there had been six years worth of incredible character building and storytelling regarding Marvel icons like Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Captain America (Chris Evans). Though the comic is more obscure, James Gunn’s band of outcasts and outlaws won the hearts of Marvel fans all over the world.

Sadly, due to the recent controversy that involved Gunn being fired from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the upcoming trilogy-ender seems to be stuck in production limbo with no signs of moving forward anytime soon. There’s still no telling when we’ll be able to see the film, which was supposed to act as an end to this current run of Guardians of the Galaxy team members, but that doesn’t mean you can’t catch the actors in other roles.

According to a report from Variety, Chris Pratt is planning to star in the upcoming film from Oscar-nominee Taylor Sheridan. The film is currently titled Fast and will feature Pratt as former special ops commando, something closer to his role in Zero Dark Thirty than Jurassic World or Guardians of the Galaxy. After being recruited by the DEA, Pratt’s character is hired to lead a strike team set to take down drug dealers. Unfortunately for Pratt’s character, these drug dealers are protected by the CIA.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as soon as more information becomes available. What is your opinion on Chris Pratt’s new role? Are you happy to see him take this film instead of another CGI-filled adventure film? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
