Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 recently began streaming on Disney Plus. However, the film’s director James Gunn was quick to call out a mistake on the streamer’s site.
Fans have eagerly awaited Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3‘s release on Disney Plus, if only so they can ugly cry in the comfort of their own home. The film, like many others on the service, has the option of watching in its original theatrical aspect ratio or the IMAX Enhanced ratio. However, the thumbnail of the IMAX ratio seems to suggest that the movie was simply cropped to fit the screen, which James Gunn was quick to correct as false:
This is far from the only mistake on Disney Plus, or any streaming service for that matter. It’s not likely any sleep-deprived intern intentionally tried to make Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 look bad. Luckily, James Gunn’s comments were able to get the image updated, allowing viewers to accurately choose if they want to watch Blurp in the standard ratio or IMAX.
What to expect from the third Guardians movie
Written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Sean Gunn, Sylvester Stallone, Will Poulter, Chukwudi Iwuji and Maria Bakalova.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 synopsis reads as follows: “Our beloved band of misfits are settling into life on Knowhere, but it isn’t long before their lives are upended by the echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life – a mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.”
