‘Games of Thrones’ Actor Hafthor Björnsson Sets New Deadlift World Record

Game of Thrones actor Hafthor Bjornsson set a new world record on Saturday by deadlifitng 1,104 pounds.

Ser Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane was played by Hafthor Bjornsson and one of the most terrifying characters in the entirely of Game of Thrones. Perhaps, the most terrifying moment with “The Mountain” was when he took out the eyes of Pedro Pascal’s Oberyn Martell in season four. “The Mountain” would go on to die with his brother “The Hound” in the final season.

Hafthor Bjornsson is also a prolific strong man at 6 feet, 9 inches tall and 450 pounds. On Saturday, Bjornsson deadlifted 1,104 pounds at his home gym in Iceland. You can check out the video of “The Mountain” actor setting the new deadlift world record below.
