It seems that DC is bringing in some outside talent for its books as original Halloween director John Carpenter will be co-writing a Joker book.
John Carpenter’s upcoming DC book is titled The Joker: Year of the Villian and sounds about as nuts as you would expect from the man who brought us Halloween. Apparently, in John Carpenter’s new DC book, Lex Luthor is now an human-alien hybrid and is demanding that humanity give in to their natural evil. The Halloween director’s DC book will focus in on the Joker who is not having any of it and is determined to prove that the greatest evil is the one that leaves them laughing.
You can see the full synopsis for Halloween director John Carpenter’s upcoming DC Joker book below:
Now a human-alien hybrid, Lex Luthor has made his appeal to the world, asking its citizens to embrace doom and give in once and for all to evil, humanity’s true nature. In exchange, he will grant them the tools to ascend to their ultimate selves. While some DC villains (and heroes) are willing to hear what ‘Apex Lex’ has to offer, the Clown Prince of Crime isn’t going to wait around until Lex gets to him. This puts The Joker on a mission to get his swagger back in a world gone bad by out-badding everyone else, proving that the greatest evil is always the one that leaves them laughing.
The upcoming Joker book from Halloween director John Carpenter is scheduled to be released on October 2nd, 2019. The John Carpenter story will be forty pages long and is slated to be a one-shot. And based on this description, the Joker is going to try and have the last laugh on Lex Luthor!
