New Harley Quinn ‘Birds Of Prey’ Image Contains Batman Easter Egg

Harley Quinn Batman Birds of Prey Suicide Squad

With Margot Robbie’s new Harley Quinn image out there for the upcoming Birds of Prey movie, Eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot a very interesting Easter egg. This egg, as it turns out, revolves around the very Batman himself.

Okay, so on first glance, you may think ‘Well, it’s just Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn again.’ Upon further examination of the Birds of Prey image, though, fans, as they tend to be, were on the hunt. When you look very carefully at the dog tag that Harley is wearing, you’ll notice that it contains the name “Bruce.” As in Bruce Wayne, perhaps? Here’s the Harley Quinn image with the Batman Easter egg.

Now, is this a shout out to Bruce Wayne’s Batman? Perhaps. It could also work as a nod to Bruce Timm, the man behind the DC Animated Universe. But let’s put on the speculation hat and pretend that it’s Batman related. Why? Sure, Joker and Harley have an unhealthy obsession with the Dark Knight, so that could be one reason. Plus, if you recall in the flashback in Suicide Squad, it was Harley who noted that Batsy was ruining date night.

So perhaps this is her way of reminding herself of that throughout the upcoming DC film, but it’s all speculation, naturally. Of course, this would mean that Harley actually knows Batman’s secret identity. Within this universe, there’s no indication, as far as I can recall, that either Harley or Joker knows this. But anyway, with this nod and the fact that Birds of Prey is taking place in Gotham City, could this be hinting at a possible appearance by Bruce Wayne or Batman in the film?

What do you think of the possible Batman Easter egg, though? A nod to Bruce Wayne? Or is it Bruce Timm? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and stay tuned for more Birds of Prey updates.

Directed by Cathy Yan and written by Christina Hodson, Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) currently stars Margot Robbie, Jurnee Smolett-Bell, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Rosie Perez, Ella Jay Basco and Ewan McGregor. The film is set to hit theaters on February 7, 2020.
