King Orm The Dark Knight Rises Ocean Master Aquaman Patrick Wilson MarvelPatrick Wilson recently took to social media to celebrate Aquaman outgrossing The Dark Knight Rises at the worldwide box office.

For years, as far as DC heroes go, Superman and Batman ruled the big screen. Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, in particular, took the world by storm with its first installment Batman Begins in 2005, its groundbreaking sequel The Dark Knight in 2008, and its epic conclusion The Dark Knight Rises in 2012. Until recently, The Dark Knight Rises was the highest grossing DC movie at the worldwide box office but thanks to last year’s Aquaman, that milestone has been surpassed.

Despite following the controversial Justice League film, Aquaman has been captivating audiences since early December. Its box office reign has continued strong in the weeks following its U.S. debut. Now, the film has officially outgrossed The Dark Knight Rises to become the highest grossing DC film of all time. Patrick Wilson, who plays King Orm in Aquaman, recently responded to the incredible box office achievement with an awesome 10-year challenge featuring his character.
