‘Harley Quinn’ Showrunners Say She Will Never Get Back With The Joker

It's Harlivy forever!

Harley Quinn Poison Ivy DC Universe HBO Max Marvel Season 3 Joker

The showrunners of Harley Quinn double-down on their intention to keep her away from The Joker.

In the HBO Max animated series Harley Quinn, fans are treated to a more irreverent side of the DC Universe, in which the series pokes fun at the superhero tropes through the eyes of the beloved character that first originated from Batman: The Animated Series. With Season 3 on the way, Harley continues to be estranged from The Joker while being involved in a relationship with Poison Ivy.

Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker, the showrunners for Harley Quinn recently spoke with The AV Club about the upcoming third season of the animated series, to which they acknowledged that some fans prefer having Harley and The Joker together instead of with Poison Ivy. Schumacker responded to such sentiment with the following:

“We still have the occasional fan reaction of ‘I don’t like Harley and Ivy together. She should get back with the Joker,’ which we’re never going to do. Harley and Ivy will never break up in the series as long as we have a say. That’s something that we never want to touch again.”

Harley Quinn + Poison Ivy > Joker

The ship between Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy has become popular amongst fans of both the comics and the cartoon, with some expressing hope to see the two become a couple in the DC Extended Universe. Margot Robbie, who plays Harley in the franchise has previously expressed interest in seeing Poison Ivy onscreen, giving her character a more loving relationship than what she’s experienced with The Joker.
