The trailer for Lucasfilm’s long-awaited Indiana Jones 5 starring Harrison Ford has arrived.
After nearly 15 years since his last cinematic adventure, Harrison Ford suits up in the fedora once again as Indiana Jones for the fifth, and possibly final time. The film, which is directed by James Mangold, picks up with the most iconic archaeologist in cinema on what looks to be one of the most daring adventures he’s ever embarked on.
Lucasfilm’s first non-Star Wars movie release since Disney’s purchase.
With James Mangold at the helm this time around instead of Steven Spielberg, it’s safe to say that this new film will be quite interesting to see from the perspective of another filmmaker – especially when following in the footsteps of the cinematic icon.
In addition to the trailer, Disney and Lucasfilm have also dropped a poster for the movie, which is titled Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
In addition to Harrison Ford, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny also stars Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Thomas Kretschmann, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson and Toby Jones. James Mangold co-wrote the script alongside Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth.
The synopsis for the previous film in the Indiana Jones franchise, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, reads as follows: “STEVEN SPIELBERG and GEORGE LUCAS bring you the greatest adventurer of all time in “a nonstop thrill ride” (Richard Corliss, TIME) that’s packed with “sensational, awe-inspiring spectacles” (Roger Ebert, CHICAGO SUN-TIMES). Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull finds Indy (Harrison Ford) trying to outrace a brilliant and beautiful agent (Cate Blanchett) for the mystical, all-powerful crystal skull of Akator. Teaming up with a rebellious young biker (Shia LaBeouf) and his spirited original love Marion (Karen Allen), Indy takes you on an action-packed adventure in the exciting tradition of the classic Indiana Jones movies.”
Indiana Jones 5 will hit theaters on June 30, 2023. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news on Harrison Ford and Lucasfilm’s upcoming projects, and subscribe to our YouTube channel for more video content in the future!
