Harry Lennix confirmed that he returned to play Martian Manhunter in the reshoots for Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

After years of waiting and speculation, Harry Lennix has finally confirmed that he is playing Martian Manhunter in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. The actor spoke to Collider about the role, explaining that he initially assumed it was a “one and done” before being called back for future appearances. Fans have been desperate to see Lennix in the role ever since the director teased the hero’s secret presence in the film using storyboards.

“I think we can put the rumor to bed yes, I am the Martian Manhunter. I am eternally grateful for Zack for seeing it through. You know it came about in a very circuitous way, you know, the fans demanded that his vision be given a fair hearing, a fair viewing if you will.”

Harry Lennix also confirmed that he returned for the recent reshoots on Justice League to add a small scene into the film. Thanks to Snyder’s previous reveals, it seems likely that this scene could be the moment Martian Manhunter pretends to be Martha Kent when meeting Lois Lane, but who knows if the director has any extra surprises up his sleeve. Although Lennix said he shot the footage on green screen in August, he later noted that it actually took place in October. Take a look at his comments below.

“I was on a green screen basically, so you can actually film things in a way where you don’t have to endanger people. But I did shoot with Zack and his team back I think in August, or something like that, we did a small little thing.”

Do you think Harry Lennix should get to reprise his Martian Manhunter role in future films? Are you excited to see Justice League? Sound-off in the comments below!
