Harry Potter is finally assembling its crew! The upcoming HBO series has recruited Succession and Game of Thrones talent to helm the project.
Ever since it was announced that Harry Potter would be rebooted as a TV series for HBO, fans have been keeping an eye on the news to see who would be chosen to helm the project. According to a new report from Entertainment Weekly, Succession producer Francesca Gardiner will serve as both showrunner and lead writer for the show.
Francesca Gardiner won’t be the only Succession alum joining HBO’s Harry Potter reboot. The report also states that Mark Mylod, who had previously worked on both Succession and Game of Thrones, will serve as executive producer for the series as well as the director for multiple episodes.

With the project so early into production, details about the upcoming reboot of Harry Potter have been kept close to the chest. The series recently made its switch from being a Max show to an HBO original, suggesting that the project will have a weekly release instead of dropping all at once.
Rumors from before the reboot was announced suggested that HBO’s Harry Potter series was projected to last seven seasons, if the ratings were there. Despite recent controversies, JK Rowling will remain on as executive producer for the show alongside Mark Mylod.
