The Last of Us has finally found it’s Abby! However, it seems HBO has taken an unexpected direction in casting one of the series’ most iconic characters for season 2.
Ever since The Last of Us wrapped up its freshman outing on HBO, fans have been wondering which actress would take up the role of Abby in a potential season 2. It seems after months of waiting the answer has finally been revealed, as HBO has announced that Kaitlyn Dever has signed on to play the iconic antagonist.
This casting comes as an unexpected move to fans of The Last of Us given Kaitlyn Dever topped many lists for actresses to play Ellie when the series was first announced and Bella Ramsey was yet to be attached to the role. Despite this, Dever has proven her acting chops in projects like Booksmart and Dopesick, ensuring she’ll do the character of Abby justice when season 2 finally hits HBO.
