The Troubled History Of Masters Of The Universe
A live-action Masters of the Universe has been in development for over half a decade. Major studios have been ping-ponging the rights around. Originally, the project was going to be helmed by Sony before being picked up by Netflix, which then sold it to Amazon after $30 million in development costs. The role of He-Man himself has been equally tossed around, with Noah Centineo and Kyle Allen being attached prior to Nicholas Galitzine, who currently plays the titular Prince Adam.
The Masters of the Universe reboot has an all-star cast. Joining Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man are Jared Leto (Skeletor), Camila Mendes (Teela), Idris Elba (Man-at-Arms), Alison Brie (Evil-Lyn), and Morena Baccarin (The Sorceress). This is the second live-action He-Man movie, the first being a 1987 film starring Dolph Lundgren and Courtney Cox.
Masters of the Universe is set to release June 5, 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news on the upcoming film and future He-Man content!
