‘The Politician’ Star David Corenswet Wants To Succeed Henry Cavill As Superman

Henry Cavill David Corenswet Superman

The Politician star David Corenswet said in a recent interview that he would like to succeed Henry Cavill and become the next Superman.

The possibility of Henry Cavill returning as Superman has became even more uncertain after a report stating that Warner Bros. is currently trying to figure out what do with the DC character. The report also mentioned Michael B. Jordan went in and pitched his own Superman film. Henry Cavill later responded to all the claims saying that he is still hoping for a return to the Superman role soon.

With Robert Pattinson recently replacing Ben Affleck as Batman, a young actor could be replacing Henry Cavill as Superman next. One name that has already been thrown around by some fans is David Corenswet. The 26-year-old David Corenswet is best known for recently appearing in Netflix’s The Politician and will reunite with Ryan Murphy for Hollywood. David Corenswet already bears a striking resemblance to Henry Cavill, who may be the most comic book accurate looking Superman to date. David Corenswet was recently asked by Entertainment Weekly about the Superman fan-casting and had this to say:

“It came to my attention before the internet got a hold of me. But my pie-in-the-sky ambition is definitely to play Superman. I would love to see somebody do an upbeat, throwback [take on Superman]. I love the Henry Cavill dark and gritty take, but I would love to see the next one be very bright and optimistic.”

Do you think Henry Cavil will ever return as Superman? Do you think David Corenswet would be a good replacement? Sound off in the comments below!

Henry Cavill was last seen as Superman in Justice League, here is the synopsis for that film:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.

Justice League is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD.
