Even though the DCEU’s future is a big mystery for us fans, there are certain elements of it that we’ve learned to love like Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa’s Aquaman and Henry Cavill’s Superman. As you may already know, Gal Gadot will reprise her role as Diana Prince in Wonder Woman 1984 and Jason Momoa will return as Arthur Curry in the Aquaman sequel. However, Henry Cavill’s future as Superman is still in doubt.

Along with Jason Momoa and Gal Gadot, Henry Cavill is an actor that truly stepped it up for the DC Extended Universe. Their versions of Aquaman, Wonder Woman and Superman have surely stood out. It’s safe to say that fans want more films with Henry Cavill in the Superman role. Cavill played a great version of Superman that more DCEU films have the opportunity to expand on and tell more great stories with thanks to him and Zack Snyder.

The DCEU continues with Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on February 7, 2020, and Wonder Woman 1984 on June 5, 2020. A standalone Joker film set outside of the DC Films universe starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime is also set to hit theaters October 4, 2019.
Although the next Superman film hasn’t been announced or slated yet, or if Henry Cavill will reprise his role, Supergirl is one of the many projects being developed over at Warner Bros. and DC. The studio has tasked Oren Uziel to pen the script. Superman recently had a cameo in the Shazam! movie, but the character’s face was out of frame.
The Supergirl film is one of many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC. The list also includes Matt Reeves’ The Batman, a Flash standalone film, Cyborg, The Suicide Squad, Aquaman 2, The Trench, Black Adam, the Shazam! sequel, Plastic Man and New Gods.
