The second season of Henry Cavill’s The Witcher is looking to restart production this August.
Earlier this year, Netflix made the decision to halt production on the second season of its hit fantasy series The Witcher due to concerns over the coronavirus. Now, Redanian Intelligence reports that the Henry Cavill series won’t resume production until this August.
According to Redanian Intelligence, Henry Cavill’s The Witcher season two is expected to resume filming in the first week of August 2020. A separate report from Production Weekly reveals that Netflix is planning to get cameras rolling again on August 3rd.
In March, Netflix announced that it would be conducting a deep cleaning of all of its sets for The Witcher season two after cast member Kristofer Hivju (Game of Thrones) tested positive for the coronavirus. Hivju revealed that he had fully recovered from the coronavirus about a month later. The streaming service paused production prior to becoming aware of Hivju’s diagnosis and adviced cast and crew members to self-quarantine for fourteen days after shutting down the series.
