‘Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’ Series In Development At Hulu

Hulu is developing a Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series with Carlton Cuse and Wonder Woman co-writer Jason Fuchs.

The Hollywood Reporter confirms Deadline’s report on Carlton Cuse and Wonder Woman co-writer Jason Fuchs are collaborating on a series based on author Douglas Adams’ Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy novels. The Hulu series will come from Disney’s ABC Signature, the ABC Studios division dedicated to development for cable and streaming outlets.

Jason Fuchs and Carlton Cuse will write and executive producer Hulu’s Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series. Cuse and his Genre Arts company have an overall deal at ABC Studios.

Hulu reportedly declined to comment.

Douglas Adams’ created the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy as a radio series for BBC before adapting the stories into a series of six novels. The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy story centers on the space travels of Arthur Dent following the Earth’s destruction at the hands of alien race paving the way for an intergalactic highway bypass. Disney previously produced a 2005 feature film adaptation of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy starring  Martin Freeman, Mos Def and Zooey Deschanel.
