‘House Of The Dragon’ Season 2 Set Video Reveals Shocking Death

Behold! Fire and Blood!

House of the Dragon Game of Thrones

The filming of the second season of HBO’s House Of The Dragon, based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire and Blood novel, is well underway in Spain. A brand new video from set of the series reveals the shocking death of a major character.

Readers beware! The article below contains massive spoilers for Fire and Blood by George R.R. Martin and its adaptation House Of The Dragon by HBO.

A brand new video from the set of House Of The Dragon was taken by the Game of Thrones fan site WatchersOnTheWall.com. The video, along with a number of photos, shows a prop stand-in for a severed dragon head being wheeled through the city streets. As it’s taken through the streets, someone can be heard calling out: “Behold! The traitor dragon Meleys; slain at Rook’s Rest for your king! For Aegon.” The full video can be seen below:

Yes, Rhaenys Targaryen’s (Eve Best) dragon Meleys seems to be set to meet their end in season 2 of House Of The Dragon. If the events of the HBO show unfold the same way they do in George R.R. Martin’s original Fire and Blood book, Meleys will die when she and Rhaenys fight King Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney) riding Sunfyre and Prince Aemond Targaryen (Ewan Mithcell) riding Vhagar above Rook’s Rest. While in the book the corpse found with Meleys was too burned to be identified as Rhaenys Targaryen, it’s not likely she’ll avoid her fate in the show.
