Hugh Jackman will finally wear his character’s iconic mask in Deadpool and Wolverine! However, a new rumor paints a sad fate for the costume.
For literal decades, Marvel fans have been begging for Hugh Jackman to don the iconic yellow and black costume Wolverine wears in the comics. Those dreams are finally coming true in Deadpool and Wolverine, as merchandise has confirmed that Jackman will put on the Wolverine mask for the project.
However, it seems he won’t be wearing the costume for as long as fans might expect. According to insider DanielRPK, Hugh Jackman will only be wearing the mask for 10 minutes of the project’s runtime. For perspective, that’s only about 7% of the Deadpool and Wolverine‘s total runtime.
The Secret Behind Deadpool And Wolverine’s Costumes
While it’s disappointing that Hugh Jackman will only be wearing his mask for less than a tenth of the total runtime, he won’t be the only one getting a new costume in Deadpool and Wolverine. Ryan Reynolds is joining him with colorful new digs, even brighter than his previous outings as the Merc with a Mouth.
This isn’t an accident, either. A rumor revealed that the costumes worn by Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds will be created by the TVA for them to wear throughout the film. In addition to Jackman getting an upgrade with his mask, Reynolds will be getting shiny new Adamantium swords in Deadpool and Wolverine, allowing him to clash claws with his co-star.
