‘Logan’: New Details About Hugh Jackman’s Final ‘Wolverine’ Movie

Logan Wolverine James Mangold

Hugh Jackman’s last outing as Wolverine has long been shrouded in mystery, but earlier today, director James Mangold took to Twitter to reveal the first official poster for the upcoming movie, as well as its title: Logan. That said, The Wrap has just revealed more details about the movie, which we’re going to talk about below. Full on spoilers follow, so turn away if you don’t want to know anything about the plot.

We’ve known for a while now that the film would be set in the future, and The Wrap reveals that the story takes place in 2024. The film is darker than all of the previous Wolverine and X-Men movies, and Logan’s powers are fading, so he’s sick and his healing powers are barely even working. He now works as limousine driver, which explains those old set pictures of Jackman driving a bullet-ridden limo.

The report also reveals that Patrick Stewart’s Professor X is much older and not well. Logan takes care of him with the help of Caliban, who will be played by Stephen Merchant (The Office, Hello Ladies). As for the mysterious little girl from the film’s poster (seen above), the report reveals the following:

“We learned further details about the from an insider who said that the girl in the poster is a young mutant. In 2024, mutant births are severely in decline, and people aren’t sure why. We find out about a government-type operation called “Transigen” that is turning mutant children into killing machines. Logan ends up mentoring the girl, who has two claws instead of his three.”

Logan opens in theaters on March 3, 2017.
