But now that the internet has tasted his return, they want more. The film arrives in theaters this week, and the internet is ablaze with speculation about where Jackman could appear next in the MCU.
Given the scale of Deadpool and Wolverine, it’s all but confirmed that Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds are on the shortlist to lead the next Avengers movies. However, the truly titillating ideas come from the smaller crossovers. It seems Jackman has only one of those in mind. He wants pictures (and punches) with Spider-Man!
Hugh Jackman Speaks On Spider-Man Hopes
Hugh Jackman is far from the only person who wants his hero to meet a version of Spider-Man. With how many cameos are in Deadpool and Wolverine, it’s a shock he hasn’t already! However, in a recent interview with Ryan Reynolds, the two stars gave their specific ideas about how they want to interact with Tom Holland’s take on the webhead.
“If I could pick one, I’d love to play with Spider-Man,” Ryan Reynolds explained in a talk with Marvel Thailand.
“That would be cool. I agree, he’s so cool,” Jackman continued. “He’s young. We could pile on him and abuse him.”
“You can hit him as hard as you want,” Reynolds finished. “He gets right back up.”
It’s certain Tom Holland wouldn’t want to be piled on to by the mammoth of a man that is Hugh Jackman. However, it’s clear both he and Ryan Reynolds want to fulfill the dream fans have had for literal decades. The matter of the heroes actually meeting Spider-Man in the MCU seems to be a matter of when, not if!
