See Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine In Benedict Cumberbatch’s ‘Doctor Strange 2’

See Wolverine step into the MCU!

A new concept design for Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness imagines Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine on one of the film’s character posters.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is building on Marvel’s cinematic multiverse, as introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Spider-Man: No Way Home. While that film saw villains and Spider-Men from past Spidey franchises enter the MCU, Multiverse of Madness will see Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange travelling through universes and encountering characters both familiar and brand new, including Patrick Stewart’s returning Professor X.

With Professor Charles Xavier returning to the big screen after last appearing in Fox’s X-Men franchise, the door is open to other X-Men cropping up in the Doctor Strange sequel too. While trailers seem to imply Professor X’s role will be restricted to the halls of the Illuminati, where he sits with other heroes from across the multiverse to pass judgement on Doctor Strange, it’s possible Strange will travel to Xavier’s home universe — or a similar universe — and encounter the other X-Men, such as Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.

After the many years he spent in the role (Hugh Jackman first appeared as Wolverine in 2000’s X-Men and went on to appear in every X-Men film up until his character’s death in 2017’s Logan), it would be hard for fans to imagine anyone other than Jackman as Wolverine. The multiverse could allow for his MCU return. A new character poster by artist “diamonddead” on Instagram imagines exactly that, depicting Jackman’s Logan wreathed in Wanda Maximoff’s red energy, as seen on other character posters for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Fans don’t have long to wait to see if Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine or any other X-Men are featured in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, with the film releasing this Friday in the US. With the introduction of the multiverse to the MCU, countless new crossovers have been made possible.
