Hugh Jackman Says ‘Wolverine Will Be Back’; Doubts Fans Want To See Him With Deadpool

Former X-Men star Hugh Jackman revealed in a recent interview that he believes the world doesn’t want to see Wolverine with Deadpool.

Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds continues talk about wanting to team up with Jackman’s Wolverine in a future film. Jackman retired from the role after playing the character in nine films over 17 years. Logan ended the story of Jackman’s Wolverine but the actor said in a recent interview with People that he believes the character will return eventually:

“Oh, Wolverine will be back. Someone’s going to buy him, I don’t know.”

With the looming Disney-Fox deal and Marvel Studios most likely rebooting the X-Men franchise, a new Wolverine seems inevitable. The interviewer reiterated, saying the character will likely return without Jackman. However, Jackman revealed Reynolds continues to press him about a potential crossover:

“No, but Ryan is relentless. He keeps coming back to me in all these ways, shapes and forms. I just said, ‘You know, I just don’t think the world really wants to see Deadpool with Wolverine.’ Maybe a cameo from Deadpool? I just think it runs over it for Deadpool.”

The interviewer went on to joke about how Reynold’s argument would be that the crossover would give Jackman a career boost. The former Wolverine actor responded saying:

“Oh, really? That’s nice of him. He’s throwing me a bone? Got it. You know that term, dag, I mentioned? A dag is a goofball in American. It’s a goof. You’re such a dag, Ryan!”
