Lionsgate continues to assemble the cast for The Hunger Games prequel based on the recent novel, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. The story follows a young Coriolanus Snow, the original series villain who Donald Sutherland played. In the upcoming film, he will be portrayed by Tom Blyth. As major roles continue to be filled, it has now been revealed that Euphoria‘s Hunter Schafer is the latest to join the film.

Lionsgate Finds Its Tigris

Hunter Schafer hit the scene for her role as Jules in Euphoria. In The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, she will play Tigris, who is “Coriolanus’s cousin and confidante, who advises him in everything – from his role as mentor to the core of his moral compass.” Eugenie Bondurant previously played the character in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2.

Here is the premise for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes:

Years before he would become the tyrannical President of Panem, 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow is the last hope for his fading lineage, a once-proud family that has fallen from grace in a post-war Capitol. With the 10th annual Hunger Games fast approaching, the young Snow is alarmed when he is assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird, the girl tribute from impoverished District 12. But, after Lucy Gray commands all of Panem’s attention by defiantly singing during the reaping ceremony, Snow thinks he might be able to turn the odds in their favor. Uniting their instincts for showmanship and newfound political savvy, Snow and Lucy’s race against time to survive will ultimately reveal who is a songbird, and who is a snake.

Directed by Francis Lawrence from a script written by Michael Lesslie, Michael Arndt, and author Suzanne Collins, the upcoming film stars Tom Blythe as Coriolanus Snow, Rachel Zegler as Lucy Gray Baird, Jerome Lance as Marcus, Ashley Liao as Clemensia Dovecote, Knox Gibson as Bobbin, Mackenzie Lansing as Coral, and Aamer Husain as Felix Ravinstill, Josh Andrés Rivera as Sejanus Plinth, and Hunter Schafer as Tigris Snow.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes will hit theaters on November 17, 2023. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for more updates on the upcoming prequel starring Rachel Zegler and Tom Blyth. You can also subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
