Season 2 of I Am Groot is set to release on Disney Plus early next month. The series’ runtime reveals it to be the shortest MCU project to date.

Fans have certainly chaffed at the length of recent MCU products. Following Avengers: Endgame, it seems as though every film needs to be at least 2 hours, with Disney Plus series nearing 4 by sheer episode count. I Am Groot finally seems to buck this trend, with season 2 becoming the shortest project to date at 15 minutes:

Given I Am Groot is simply a collection of short films, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that the runtime comes in short compared to other MCU offerings on Disney Plus. However, the first season provided fans with heartwarming Guardians of the Galaxy goodness in a bit-sized package, and it seems as though season 2 is set to deliver in an even bigger way.

While the Guardians of the Galaxy series may be over, their legacy lives on. Vin Diesel returns to voice the titular tree toddler in the second season of I Am Groot, a series of five short films that features the antics of Groot as he finds his way in the wild universe of the MCU.

Kirsten Lepore returns as the writer and director for season 2 of I Am Groot. Luma Pictures will also return to animate the series. Danielle Costa is set as the supervising producer, along with executive producers Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso and Kirsten Lepore.

I Am Groot season 2 will debut on Disney Plus on September 6.
