Hobbs and Shaw star Idris Elba becomes Bronze Tiger for James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad in a cool new piece of fan art.
There isn’t much indication as to who Idris Elba will play in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, but one digital artist wants to see him as the DC Comics villain Ben Turner, a.k.a. Bronze Tiger. Instagram user Hjxart recently unveiled artwork that imagines Idris Elba as Bronze Tiger for the upcoming supervillain team-up flick. Here’s what Idris Elba could look like as Bronze Tiger.

So the full Suicide Squad cast was announced and @idriselba is confirmed. Who he’s playing though is still a mystery, but rumours suggest that he’s BRONZE TIGER, master martial artist. For this who don’t know, Idris trained professionally in MMA (watch ‘Idris Elba: Fighter) so this role will be absolutely perfect for him to showcase his skills. Not to mention he’s been one of my favourite actors ever since his turn as Stringer Bell (if you know, you know). Do you support this casting? Or do you think Idris should’ve been saved for a bigger DC role? @jamesgunn
As the artists mentions, Idris Elba does have considerable training as a martial artist, so Bronze Tiger would be a logical choice for the actor to play. Bronze Tiger isn’t the most notable name in the DC Universe, but it sure would be interesting for such a big actor like Idris Elba to play such a unique and unknown character.
Apart from returning cast members Viola Davis, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney and Joel Kinnaman, we have no idea who any of the newcomers are playing in The Suicide Squad. Only time will tell who Idris Elba is in the highly-anticipated film by James Gunn.
