‘Avengers: Infinity War’: Tom Holland Not Allowed To Read Script

'Spider-Man: Homecoming' star Tom Holland is not allowed to read the script for Marvel's 'Avengers: Infinity War' in order to preserve the film's surprises.

Avengers_Infinity_War_Tom_HollandWith Spider-Man: Homecoming swinging into theaters soon, Tom Holland has a lot to celebrate. Based on early reactions to the film, it seems that Holland has further proven himself as a terrific Peter Parker both inside the suit and out. With the critical and certain commercial success on the horizon, Homecoming will leave fans even more excited tor the webhead’s role in Avengers: Infinity War.

Even though Kevin Feige has hinted at Spider-Man’s screentime in the highly-anticipated film, Holland is unaware about much of the film’s story. Apparently due to his loose lips, Holland is not permitted to read the Infinity War script. While speaking to the Toronto Sun, Holland revealed he is in the dark about the film’s script:

“I don’t know anything about it or what it’s about. I know who the villain is, but that’s it. They don’t let me read anything because I’m so bad at keeping secrets.”

Not allowing Holland to read the film’s script seems awfully fitting given Spider-Man’s new role as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Based off of Homecoming, we see that Peter is still learning of how to become an Avenger under the tutelage of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), and by the time Infinity War begins, he will face the biggest threat he’s faced in his young life.

Thankfully, Peter doesn’t have to worry about fighting of Thanos (Josh Brolin) alone. Infinity War serves as the culmination of the entire MCU since Iron Man was released in 2008. The film will feature Earth’s Mightiest Heroes along with newer members that include Ant-Man, the Wasp, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel and the Guardians of the Galaxy.

What do you guys think of Holland not being allowed to read the script for Infinity War? Given that he claims to be prone to revealing secrets, whatever needs to be done to preserve the surprises is worthwhile.

Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters on July 7, 2017. Meanwhile, Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War opens in theaters on May 4, 2018.
