Fans have been eagerly awaiting any news about Invincible season 2 from Amazon Studios. A brand new poster showcases its packed cast ahead of San Diego Comic-Con.
With SAG-AFTRA and the WGA on strike, Invincible is primed to steal the spotlight from the major companies at San Diego Comic-Con. That domination starts now, with Amazon Studios releasing a brand new poster for the show’s second season that highlights the main characters.
While the poster has the usual suspects, such as the titular Invincible and Allen the Alien who was teased at the end of last season, there are some notable inclusions and exceptions. The Immortal returns on the bus, suggesting yet another revival. The poster also shows William and Amber, assuring fans Mark Grayson’s civilian life won’t be ignored like some other superhero properties.
Most strikingly, the poster lacks any mention of Omni-Man, potentially hinting at his absence this season. Though if that remains to be seen, and likely will be answered at San Diego Comic-Con.
The cast and storyline of the Invincible adaptation
The cast of Invincible also includes J.K. Simmons, Sandrah Oh, Mark Hamill, Gillian Jacobs, Andrew Rannells, Zazie Beetz, Walton Goggins, Jason Mantzoukas, Mae Whitman and Malese Jow.
An official synopsis for the eight-episode first season of the Amazon Prime Video series reads as follows: “INVINCIBLE is an adult animated superhero series that revolves around 17-year-old Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun), who’s just like every other guy his age — except his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons). But as Mark develops powers of his own, he discovers his father’s legacy may not be as heroic as it seems.”
