Is Finn Jones back for redemption in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? The Iron Fist actor once more dons a comic-accurate mask in a recently released convention photo.
Some of the most popular discussions in superhero movie spaces are the great “What if…?” castings of history. Joaquin Phoenix as Doctor Strange, Tom Cruise as Iron Man, and even outside of the MCU, with Leonard DiCaprio almost playing Riddler in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. However, on that same coin, there are also discussions of actors who should’ve never played the role they were given. And nobody is more emblematic of that than Finn Jones as Iron Fist.
Of course, this isn’t to say that Finn Jones himself is a bad actor or was wholly wrong for the role of Iron Fist. However, there was perhaps no way his casting could have gone worse. He joined the MCU at a time when the Netflix shows were already being distanced from canon. This was also around the time when the “White Savior” trope, which many argue applies to Danny Rand, was being heavily scrutinized in the media. Throw in Jones’ martial arts training being cut short by filming demands, and the actor wasn’t exactly set up for success.
Is Finn Jones Playing Iron Fist Again?
Yet it seems, slowly but surely, fans have been coming around on the idea of Finn Jones making a return to the role of Iron Fist and to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One fan gifted him a comic-accurate mask (as seen in the Netflix show) during Geek Festival Peru 2025. While it’s not confirmation he’s coming back, it certainly shows that the desire from fans is still alive.

Of course, with Daredevil and the Punisher getting comic-accurate makeovers in their latest outings, it wouldn’t be shocking to see Finn Jones finally don a proper Iron Fist costume if he does return in the MCU. Especially given there are rumors of him coming back alongside Mike Colter’s Luke Cage, fans may finally get a faithful adaptation of the Heroes for Hire.
