‘Iron Man’ Star Terrence Howard Confirms He’s Retiring From Acting During Odd Rant

Terrence Howard Iron Man

Former Iron Man star Terrence Howard confirmed his plans to retire from acting during an unusual red carpet interview.

The first Iron Man film featured Terrence Howard in the role of James “Rhodey” Rhodes, Tony Stark’s close friend and confidant. However, Terrence Howard was later replaced by Don Cheadle for Iron Man 2 and all subsequent MCU films.

Fortunately for Terrence Howard, his pos-Iron Man credits include a role in Fox’s musical drama Empire, which is set to conclude with its upcoming season. During a red carpet interview with KTLA 5 at the 2019 Primetime Emmy Awards, Iron Man star Terrence Howard confirmed his plans to retire from acting after the final season of Empire in a bizarre rant:

“…I mean everyone keeps trying to tell me, ‘Don’t say it’s forever,’ but I’ve spent 37 years pretending to be people, so that people can pretend to watch and enjoy what I’m doing, when I’ve made some discoveries in my own personal life – with the science – that Pythagoras was searching for. I’ve opened up the flower of life properly and found the real wave conjugations that we’ve been looking for, for 10,000 years. Why would I continue walking on water for tips, when I’ve got an entire generation to teach a whole new world.”
