Ironheart is set to serve as Dominique Thorne’s first solo-outing as Riri Williams following her debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. A new rumor states the series will also provide an answer to one of the MCU’s longest running mysteries in who bought Avengers Tower.
The mystery of who owns Avengers Tower stretches back six years to the release of Spider-Man: Homecoming, where it was revealed that Tony Stark sold the building to an unknown entity. Speculation on who the building’s new owner is has run rampant since then, with candidates ranging from the Fantastic Four to Wilson Fisk. It seems as though after over half a decade the mystery is set to be revealed in the upcoming Ironheart series for Disney Plus.
According to The Cosmic Circus, Ironheart will reveal that Avengers Tower was purchased by none other than Mephisto, a prominent demon in the Marvel universe. While Mephisto is far from the first devil Tony Stark has made a deal with, the purchase of Avengers Tower ties into the themes of magic vs technology in Ironheart. The site also stated that Mephisto will largely play the role of a businessman, with his true demon form being saved for key parts of the series.
This rumor was backed up by a scoop from insider MyTimeToShineHello made just before the report that corroborates the idea of Mephisto playing a businessman in Ironheart, instructing The Hood (played by Anthony Ramos) to steal technology for him. It’s currently unclear what larger motive the devil has for the tech he steals, but it’s clear that Dominique Throne has a much bigger threat on her hands than a simple fish man.
Who else is attached to the Ironheart series?
