Is Ironheart actually going to be peak? The first trailer for the Disney Plus show focused on Riri Williams is bringing a grounded vibe back to the MCU.
The MCU has had a rough history with Disney Plus shows. While the initiative has certainly brought about some gems for the franchise, most shows have been seen as “homework” by fans, especially due to their underwhelming quality. This left many fans to completely forget that an Ironheart series focused on Dominique Thorne’s Riri Williams has been in the works since 2022.
Yet nearly three years after the series finished filming, it seems as though Marvel is finally ready to release Ironheart on Disney Plus. The first trailer for the project was recently released showing a much more grounded tone for the MCU, with Riri Williams attending MIT and forced to scrap her way into building something great. The trailer also features a few familiar faces to those that kept up with the rumor mill for the project.
The Secrets Of Ironheart’s Trailer
Perhaps the most interesting part of the trailer is that it focuses a lot on the relationship between Riri Williams and Anthony Ramos’ character. For those unaware, Ramos was cast as The Hood, a mystical villain set to be the main antagonist of Ironheart. The footage presented seems to show a new take on the character in the MCU, who will potentially act as an ally in the first leg of the Disney Plus show.
The trailer also ends with a short tease of Alden Ehrenreich. While it’s been known for quite some time that he had been cast in the Ironheart Disney Plus series, it wasn’t exactly clear what character he’d be playing in the MCU. His interactions with Riri Williams, as brief as they are, don’t reveal too much, but it does seem as if he won’t be an open antagonist (yet).
Ironheart is set to release June 24, 2025 on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
