Jai Courtney shared a new photo on social media to mark James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad officially beginning production.

James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad will feature an ensemble cast of characters that includes newcomers and returning favorites from the previous film. Among the returning stars is actor Jai Courtney, reprising his role as The Flash villain Captain Boomerang.

With production on James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad set to begin soon, Jai Courtney traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, where the film will shoot for three months before heading to Panama. Yesterday, Jai Courtney shared a new photo on his official Instagram account to mark the start of production and while it may not reveal much, the image does offer fans a glimpse at Captain Boomerang’s signature gold tooth.

The first Suicide Squad followed a team of supervillains who were recruited by the government for a dangerous black ops mission in exchange for reduced sentences. The ensemble cast included Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and Jared Leto as The Joker. James Gunn is expected to deliver on the fresh take on the supervillain team in his upcoming movie.

The Suicide Squad will be released in theaters on August 6, 2021.
