A new incarnation of the beloved 007 was officially set in motion following the Broccoli family officially handing the rights over to Amazon MGM Studios. Denis Villeneuve, best known as the director of the Dune trilogy and Blade Runner 2047, was tapped to helm the project.
Though even though Amazon has a director, it doesn’t have a James Bond. This has left many wondering who Denis Villeneuve will pick as the next 007. Perhaps the most popular name is Aaron Taylor Johnson, an actor who has been on a tear these past few years with hits like Nosferatu and flops like Kraven the Hunter. Though other names like Idris Elba, Henry Cavill, and Dev Patel.

Fans may finally have some insight on who may be taking on the mantle of 007 thanks to a newsletter from scooper Jeff Sneider. The rumor suggests that Callum Turner is Denis Villeneuve’s “top choice” to play the next James Bond, putting him on the younger side when it comes to the franchise’s past stars.
Callum Turner may be best known for playing a supporting role in the Fantastic Beasts franchise as Theseus. However, he’s no stranger from the silver screen, starring in movies like Eternity and Green Room. And with how fast Amazon is pushing for Denis Villeneuve’s to come out, it’s likely that fans will know if this 007 rumor is fact or fiction sooner than later.
