James Gunn Was Involved In Gamora’s ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Death

James Gunn has revealed that he was involved with Gamora’s death in Avengers: Infinity War.

Avengers: Infinity War was filled to the brim with pulse-pounding action, twists, and revelations that changed the very fabric of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Besides Thanos’ snap, which obliterated half of the universe’s population, one of the biggest moments from the film was seeing Gamora get sacrificed by her father for the Soul Stone. The scene came as a shocker to many as Gamora is one of the most integral components of the Guardians of the GalaxyWhile audiences may have been shocked when they Infinity War, Guardians of the Galaxy writer and director James Gunn was perfectly aware of Zoe Saldana character’s death and even had a hand in it.

During the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 online watch party by ComicBook.com, James Gunn was asked if he had any part in Gamora’s death in Avengers: Infinity War. The director replied with an affirmative, stating that it was a decision they discussed a lot.

It makes sense that James Gunn was aware of Gamora’s death considering Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was already announced at the time of Avengers: Infinity War‘s release. It definitely would have made for an awkward conversation if Gunn wasn’t aware that one of his principal characters was going to die in the major team-up film. It’s also great to hear that he had a hand in Gamora’s farewell, considering he’s the one who brought her to the big screen.
