James Gunn Reveals Which Characters DC Wouldn’t Let Him Use In ‘The Suicide Squad’

James Gunn has revealed which characters DC would not allow him to use in his upcoming film, The Suicide Squad and the answer will probably surprise you.

James Gunn’s upcoming film, The Suicide Squad, is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated films in DC’s lineup. The film’s first promotional video revealed the film’s cast which included a bunch of DC characters that no one had ever heard of. With such an interesting lineup, it begged the question if DC forbade James Gunn from using any characters for the upcoming film.

In a recent post, James Gunn noted that The Suicide Squad was taking its inspiration from the classic World War II film, The Dirty Dozen. In the comments of the post, he was asked if DC had forbidden him from using any characters that he wanted to. The director revealed that the company did not:

“Nope!”
