Man of Tomorrow holds the fate of the DC Universe in its hands! James Gunn confirms that the fate of one fan-favorite character will be revealed in the sequel.
Perhaps more so than any other project, Man of Tomorrow will be the “Who’s who” of the DC Universe. The sequel will be James Gunn’s first change to establish a truly interconnected franchise. And, as such, any characters that do reappear in the Superman project will definitively be important players heading into the franchise’s future.
However, this has fans worried that a number of players from Superman‘s supporting cast may be left on the cutting room floor. With characters like Brainiac bringing the power level of the DC Universe into the cosmos, there’s a worry that people from the Daily Planet just don’t have a place in the upcoming sequel.
James Gunn Confirms One Key Superman Star
Luckily, it seems that fans are set to find out the fate of one of these minor characters heading into Man of Tomorrow. In a recent holiday card featuring Lex Luthor’s assistant Mr. Handsome, James Gunn confirmed that the unsettling homunculus’ story will continue in the Superman sequel.
While it’s not likely that many were begging for the return of Mr. Handsome, knowing that his fate will be revealed in Man of Tomorrow should give fans some hope that the DC Universe won’t forget about the little guy. In a world where Superman is taking on bigger and bigger threats, it seems as though James Gunn will always have room for his weird little freaks.
