The Hollywood Reporter brings word that James Gunn is in talks to helm a secret DC Comics movie, with Peter Safran on board as a producer. The report makes sure to point out that Gunn could be in negotiations for more DC projects besides this new feature, which is shrouded in secrecy.

James Gunn developed The Suicide Squad and its HBO Max spin-off series Peacemaker while Peter Safran is the producer behind Shazam! and Aquaman. Safran is also attached to the upcoming sequels of the two DC Comics movies.

What is James Gunn working on right now?

For now, James Gunn is putting the finishing touches on the third installment of his Guardians of the Galaxy series and a Holiday special for the Disney Plus streaming service. After those projects are officially in the can, Gunn is expected to move on to the second season of Peacemaker, which was announced back in February.

James Gunn wrote all the episodes of Peacemaker season one and directed five of them. The first season consisted of eight installments, with Brad Anderson, Jody Hill and Rosemary Rodriguez also directing. Clint Mansell and Kevin Kiner composed the show’s score.

The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker are currently available on HBO Max. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding James Gunn’s future with Warner Bros. and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
