With production on Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow now underway, James Gunn has revealed the first official behind-the-scenes photo from the Milly Alcock movie.
It’s almost hard to imagine that Milly Alcock was cast as the DC Universe’s Supergirl a year ago. Despite this, details about her character have been kept close under wraps. Only a handful of details about Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow were revealed leading up to its production, including major casting announcements and the hiring of an award-winning cinematographer.
Yet, with production on the project starting proper, it was only a matter of time before the first photo from the set of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. The photo, which was taken at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, shows Kara Zor-El actress Milly Alcock from the back, sitting on a chair with the iconic House of El crest.
Thrilled to see cameras roll at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden on Supergirl, with Craig Gillespie at the helm and the phenomenal Milly Alcock as our Kara Zor-El. Craig brings an incredible sensibility to this story, and Milly is every inch the unique #Supergirl envisioned by Tom… pic.twitter.com/za9Tr8Vryr

Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow Starts Production
Filming for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow officially started a few days ago. This was confirmed publicly to fans when Milly Alcock posted a photo of herself in London, not far from the project’s primary filming location in Leavesden, England. If all stays course, the film is set to be the second feature put out for the DC Universe, and either the fourth or fifth project overall depending on when Lanterns finishes filming.
Milly Alcock isn’t alone on the set of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. The cast list of her first cinematic solo outing as Supergirl includes Jason Momoa as Lobo, Eve Ridley As Ruthye Marye Knoll, Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, and, most likely, Krypto the Superdog. The film is directed by Craig Gillespie, with a screenplay written by Ana Nogueira.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is set to release on June 26, 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
