Does the DC Universe finally have its Wonder Woman? A rumor suggests that James Gunn already has an actress in mind to play the DC Universe’s Princess of Power.
One of the hottest topics in the DC Universe over the past few months has been who could take on the role of Wonder Woman. While this speculation initially started from the (now debunked) rumor that James Gunn was casting the character for Man of Tomorrow, the internet has become awash with speculation about who the next actress would be to take on the mantle.
Yet a new rumor may provide fans some new insight into who James Gunn is considering for the coveted role. According to DeuxMoi, an anonymous outlet which posts celebrity blind items, Andor star Adria Arjona is the director’s top choice to play Wonder Woman in the DC Universe. Though, given the character’s reboot is still in development, she’s not currently being cast in the part.
Is Adria Arjona The Next Wonder Woman
It’s important to consider what DeuxMoi is when reading this rumor: it’s a tabloid. While the outlet has occasionally gotten some film scoops right, such as Barry Keoghan playing Joker in The Batman, there’s no official vetting process for tips. As such, ANYONE could have suggested that Adria Arjona was James Gunn’s top choice for Wonder Woman, and there’d be no way (or motivation) to tell if it was legit or not.
Credibility aside, Adria Arjona has long-been a top pick among fans when it comes to who plays Wonder Woman in the DC Universe. If this rumor was true, there certainly wouldn’t be many upset with the choice. Though, given how often James Gunn likes to run chemistry tests with his leading roles, it’s likely there’d still be some audition process, regardless of who the top choice was.
A Wonder Woman reboot is officially in the works at DC Studios. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe!
