With Lanterns and Supergirl not due out until the second half of the year, the main thing that DC Universe fans have had to occupy themselves with are conspiracies about what characters may or may not be in the process of getting cast. The most popular rumor in this genre is one that states James Gunn is mere days away from casting Wonder Woman in Man of Tomorrow.
Unlike most things out of the rumor mill, this isn’t entirely made of delusions. James Gunn is confirmed to be casting a female actor in Man of Tomorrow. However, there’s been little to no official details provided about his search, leading many scoopers to pick up the story as him casting Wonder Woman for the DC Universe.
Is Wonder Woman In Man Of Tomorrow?
Of course, as with any time something fun is happening in the DC Universe fandom, James Gunn has come to put the kibosh on things. The director recently took to Threads to answer a number of questions about the franchise, and specifically Man of Tomorrow. And in one key post, he officially debunked the rumor that Wonder Woman was being cast in the film.
“No. We are currently casting a female character in [Man of Tomorrow]. My only guess is scoopers are taking a stab at guessing that’s [Wonder Woman].”
What character James Gunn is actually casting for Man of Tomorrow is an entirely different question with dozens of different answers (though, for our guess, we’re betting Livewire). However, this does reinforce the idea that Gunn isn’t casting characters for the DC Universe until their projects are ready to go. And given the Wonder Woman reboot is still being written, it makes sense that this rumor turned out to be false.
