James Wan took to social media to reveal the official title of his upcoming horror film.
Over the summer, it was reported that James Wan would direct a new horror film for New Line Cinema before beginning work on the Aquaman sequel. Production on the film started today and James Wan celebrated by sharing a photo that revealed the project will officially be titled Malignant.
Details on the project are currently under wraps, though James Wan did write that he’s “really excited for this one.” As James Wan explains in the caption, Malignant will be his tenth feature film as director.

Malignant was co-written by James Wan and Ingrid Bis, with the former also producing through the Atomic Monster banner alongside Michael Clear. The cast of James Wan’s Malignant includes Annabelle Wallis, Jake Abel, George Young, Maddie Hasson, Michole Briana White, and Jacqueline McKenzie.
As previously mentioned, the plan is for James Wan to return to the DC Extended Universe with Aquaman 2 after his work on Malignant is complete. In the meantime, fans can rewatch James Wan’s first Aquaman film on all home media formats.
