Supernatural Coronavirus CW Jensen Ackles Jared Padalecki

Jared Padalecki was shocked when he found out that fellow Supernatural co-star Jensen Ackles was producing a prequel series without his involvement.

Supernatural came to its natural conclusion last year after 15 years on the air. Many believed that the 15th season of Supernatural would be the last for the franchise but that clearly wasn’t the case. Last night it was announced that a prequel series, titled The Winchesters, would focus on the parents of main characters Sam and Dean Winchester, played by Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, respectively. It was also revealed that Ackles would be executive producing the show alongside his wife Danneel Ackles, and would also be lending his voice for the show’s narration.

The announcement was met with acclaim and praise from fans, who have been clamoring for more Supernatural content. However, Jared Padalecki, who plays Sam Winchester, the older brother, was completely sidelined by the prequel series. Fans have always enjoyed how Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles’ off-screen friendship mimicked the relationship seen on screen. However, it appears that now there’s a sizable rift between the Supernatural actors.

Jared Padalecki took to Twitter to share his excitement for Jensen Ackles’ prequel but also commented on how he was completely unaware of the project. He continued by discussing how he was “bummed” that he heard about the project on Twitter. In a subsequent tweet, the Supernatural actor followed up to a fan who thought he was joking, revealing that he was genuinely unaware that a prequel series was in the works, stating that he was “gutted”. Ouch.

Jensen Ackles has yet to comment on Jared Padalecki’s absence from the Supernatural prequel series yet.
