The ride ain’t over yet. Especially not when you’re Jason Momoa. While Momoa has had two appearances in the DC Extended Universe already with his brief appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, coupled with his larger role in last year’s Justice League, the time has now come for him to lead the charge in Arthur Curry’s upcoming solo film when Aquaman hits theaters in a few weeks.
And while Jason Momoa no doubt had to undergo a lot of work in order to embrace the role of King of the Seven Seas, his watch has not yet ended when it comes to Aquaman. After all, he did state that he’s already pitched ideas for a sequel that the higher-ups at Warner Bros. enjoyed, and coupled with his enthusiasm and energy shown for the role, as seen with his numerous appearances when speaking to the press about the film, he’s all but ready to take a deep dive and become Arthur Curry once his solo film has come and gone.
But don’t just take my word for it. In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Momoa revealed that even with all of the work that went into prepping for the role of Arthur Curry, he not only considers that nothing to actual pain, but he’s more than ready to suit up and become the King of the Seven Seas once again:
“It is absolutely no pain compared to what pain really is, so absolutely I’ll be going through it again.”
Judging on how well Aquaman should do at the box office and with audiences, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Warner Bros. became interested in the idea of a second Aquaman film, in particular since both Jason Momoa and director James Wan have talked about ideas they have for a possible sequel. We’ll have to wait and see if and when that comes to pass, but in the meantime, what do you think about Momoa’s excitement to possibly return as Arthur Curry in the future? Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Nicole Kidman.
The film will swim into theaters on December 21, 2018.
