Jason Momoa has shared a never-before-seen Justice League image of Aquaman stabbing Steppenwolf.

On his official Instagram page, Aquaman star Jason Momoa shared this black and white image of him as Arthur Curry stabbing Steppenwolf through the chest during the movie’s climax. You can also see Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in the background staring at her fellow Justice League member in awe. What makes this post most enticing to some fans of the DC Extended Universe is the fact that Jason Momoa captioned it with “#releasethesnydercut.”

Aquaman star Jason Momoa has been dropping hints to DCEU fans regarding the Zack Snyder cut of Justice League and whether or not it would be released for fans to enjoy. Jason Momoa has been one of the most vocal supporters of Justice League helmer Zack Snyder and even claimed to have seen the director’s original cut of the film and hinted that the visual effects for the cut may be more finished than some expected.

Zack Snyder left the director’s chair for Justice League months before the film hit theaters following a family tragedy. Avengers director Joss Whedon stepped in to oversee reshoots and post-production on Justice League, which ended up receiving mixed-to-negative responses from fans of Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, with much of the criticisms levied at the villain Steppenwolf.

Whether or not the Zack Snyder cut of Justice League ever gets released to the public, Aquaman star Jason Momoa remains passionate about his character and remains indebted to the opportunity Zack Snyder gave him to play the King of Atlantis in the DCEU.
