Jason Momoa has confirmed that production for Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom has officially wrapped.

2018’s Aquaman was perhaps one of the year’s most bizarre success stories. The Jason Momoa film came off the heels of Justice League as the entire DC Extended Universe experiment was falling apart. The film ultimately garnered mixed to positive reviews from critics and while not everyone agreed on whether or not the movie was “good” everyone agreed that it was fun. The film went on to earn over $1B at the worldwide box-office and a sequel and a now-canceled spinoff involving The Trench was put into development.

Earlier this year during the DC FanDome event we got our first look at Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom. This included a behind-the-scenes sizzle real and new suits for both Jason Momoa and Black Manta. Now it appears that production for the film has wrapped.

In a recent story post, Jason Momoa announced that production for the new Aquaman film had wrapped and wished he could tell fans more about what was to come:

“Aw man, that’s a wrap. That’s a wrap, Aquaman 2. I have so much to share with you, I wish…I could tell you so much. What an epic day. I love you. So good to have been home to finish this, so many good surprises. Love you and…it’s been a long time. I’m taking a break. Aloha.”

Here is the synopsis for the first Aquaman film:

From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.

Aquaman is available on Digital HD, 4K UHD Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, and DVD. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set to hit theaters on December 16, 2022.
