Jason Momoa has teased his Fast And Furious 10 villain role, giving us a few hints as to what’s coming.
The Fast And Furious franchise has as turned into one of the most unexpected hit series outside of comic book adaptations. Up until the Covid-19 pandemic, the later installments of the series earned anywhere from $600M to $1.5B worldwide. Even the latest installment F9: The Fast Saga became 2021’s 5th highest-grossing film worldwide. Now the series is coming to an end, but it still has a few stories left to tell.
In the Fast And Furious‘ 8th installment, Fate of the Furious, it was revealed that many of the events of the previous two installments were orchestrated, at least in part, by Charlize Theron’s Cipher. She went on to become one of the main antagonists of the ninth film and is set to return for the tenth installment. But, this time around, she will have additional muscle at her side.
Earlier this year it was revealed that Aquaman star Jason Momoa was in talks to play one of Fast and Furious 10’s main antagonists. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Momoa revealed just a bit about what we can expect from his new villain character and went on to prose co-star Charlize Theron:
“He’s amazing. He’s ornery. He’s misunderstood. I get to shoot with some really cool people that I have never — I get to work with Charlize [Theron] first up, which I’m really excited about. She’s amazing.”
Here is the official synopsis for the franchise’s latest installment, F9: The Fast Saga:
Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto is leading a quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian, but they know that danger always lurks just over their peaceful horizon. This time, that threat will force Dom to confront the sins of his past if he’s going to save those he loves most. His crew joins together to stop a world-shattering plot led by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered: a man who also happens to be Dom’s forsaken brother, Jakob (John Cena, this year’s The Suicide Squad).
F9 sees the return of Justin Lin as director, who helmed the third, fourth, fifth and sixth chapters of the series when it transformed into a global blockbuster. The action hurtles around the globe—from London to Tokyo, from Central America to Edinburgh, and from a secret bunker in Azerbaijan to the teeming streets of Tblisi. Along the way, old friends will be resurrected, old foes will return, history will be rewritten, and the true meaning of family will be tested like never before.
Directed by Justin Lin from a script written by Daniel Casey, Fast and Furious 9 stars Vin Diesel, John Cena, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Cardi B, and Sung Kang, with Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron.
