The Batman Jayme Lawson

Jayme Lawson has revealed when she will begin filming on Matt Reeves’ The Batman.

While set photos have captured The Batman filming in the United Kingdom, it seems like most of the film’s cast members haven’t actually started working on the movie. As filming for The Batman begins, many are awaiting their first look at Robert Pattinson in the Batsuit.

Colin Farrell recently revealed that he will not start filming The Batman for a couple more weeks and so has Jayme Lawson. It has been reported by i09 that Jayme Lawson will be playing a character named Rose, “a grassroots political candidate running for office in Gotham.” The Batman is full of stars, but Jayme Lawson is a relative unknown who recently graduated from Juilliard. At Sundance, Jayme Lawson provided and update on The Batman while talking to Collider:

“We haven’t really started yet. It’s more-so we are getting ready to start in a couple of weeks. I’m excited to get over there and start that collaboration with them.”

Full plot details on The Batman are being kept under lock and key, but the movie is said to center around a younger Bruce Wayne and feature a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that includes Catwoman, The Penguin, and The Riddler. The Matt Reeves project will follow Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector and will make use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC films. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new trilogy with Robert Pattinson as Batman.

Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, Jayme Lawson as Bella, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, and Peter Sarsgaard.

The Batman hits theaters on June 25, 2021.
