A brand new look at Disney Plus’ Hawkeye series puts the focus on Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton and Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop fending off bad guys.

During today’s Disney Plus Day event, Marvel Studios came out with the goodies. In a bid to get us into the holiday spirit, the studio released a brand new look at Jeremy Renner’s upcoming Hawkeye series, which has been getting near-unanimous praise from critics who got a glimpse at the first two episodes.

The brand new look at Hawkeye, which is exclusively available to watch on Disney Plus as part of Marvel Studios’ 2021 Disney+ Day Special, perfectly captures the hilarious banter between Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton and Marvel newcomer Hailee Steinfeld, who stars as Kate Bishop.

The lengthy look at the series begins with Clint Barton and Kate Bishop at a diner, with the latter telling Barton that she’s meant to become a hero. As they discuss what it means to be a hero, footage of both fighting in separate battles is shown. The sequence ends with Bishop hilariously telling Barton that she can’t afford to pay for her meal as her mother canceled her credit card.

The clip continues with Kate Bishop decked out in her purple costume as she and Clint are on the lookout for a vehicle to escape in. They come across a classic muscle car that Kate wants to use, but Barton denies the idea, saying he won’t smash a ’72 Challenger. Immediately after, bad guys begin to assault their new, less tricked out car, and a one-shot from the car similar to the iconic scene from Children of Men starts.

As they’re in the car, various baddies chase them, including Echo. Jeremy Renner drives as Hailee Steinfeld’s Bishop begins to shoot enemies down with her arrows. She later fumbles through a bag trying to find various other trick arrows. The sequence then cuts to quick footage of various Christmas festivities, two individuals fencing, and more bombastic action sequences, before returning to the vehicle. The sequence ends with them putting an end to the chase, as they get out of their car on the freeway and jump off a bridge. Hawkeye then shoots an arrow with a rope at the base of the bridge and both swing through over a subway line, closing off the clip. Wow!

It’s great that after all those years of Jeremy Renner tagging along for Avengers films that he’s finally getting his own series as the world’s greatest archer. Details on the series are still slim, though the wait to see what Hawkeye has been up to since Avengers: Endgame shortens by the day, as the series is set to hit Disney Plus the day before Thanksgiving.

Here is the synopsis for Hawkeye:

“Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit.”

Hawkeye stars Jeremy Renner, Hailee Steinfeld, Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Brian d’Arcy James, and Alaqua Cox. Florence Pugh is expected to return in her Black Widow role.

Hawkeye is set to premiere with two episodes on November 24, exclusively on Disney Plus. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news regarding the future of Clint Barton and Kate Bishop in the MCU, and be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
