DC Comics publisher Jim Lee recently commented on the Zack Snyder cut of Justice League.
This weekend, Jim Lee held a panel at C2E2 where he discussed the future of DC Comics, as well as the various projects in development at the company. One of the most talked about projects from the DC camp is Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut, which is arguably the most frequently-referenced director’s cut in recent memory, despite not being released. As expected, Jim Lee touched upon Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut with trepidation.
Ultimately, Jim Lee neither confirmed nor denied the existence of Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut, but he did offer some words of wisdom for DC fans.
“It’s a really tough question to answer, but I will say, the only thing I’ll say about this is that I think that sometimes there’s a movement to sort of segregate the audience and dismiss a group and say ‘They’re not the fans,” right? ‘They’re the people that like this’ or ‘They only like that.’ I think that’s something we need to resist. Honestly, we need every comic book fan that’s out there. Whether you want the Snyder Cut or not, you’re a DC fan and I want you to be a DC fan.”
Jim Lee is correct in pointing out the vitriolic and toxic behaviour that certain comic book fans exude when speaking about projects they’re passionate about, such as the Zack Snyder cut of Justice League. There’s no telling if DC has any intention to release Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut. That being said, Zack Snyder has been posting tons of behind-the-scenes photos and concept arts from the film which has many DC fans thinking his version of the film is on the horizion. Regardless of what you think about the Snyder Cut, you’re still a DC fan in Jim Lee’s books.
Here is the official synopsis for Justice League:

Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
